WHY: To communicate in a loud, united voice that we will fight to protect and improve our retirement benefits!
To move our legislative priorities forward, we need a LARGER VOICE! Once again, we will be teaming up with Washington Education Association Retired (WEA-R) for Legislative Day 2018. Their issues are the same as ours including reminding lawmakers that public pensions are a promise that benefits our state’s economy, and that we oppose the creation of a Plan 4 (which would undermine ALL CURRENT PLANS), and want the legislature to restore the Plan 1 COLA and the PEBB Medicare Benefit.
We will be hosting a joint reception with WEA-Retired members from 6:00pm – 8:00pm the same evening, Monday, February 5, 2018, at the Hotel RL Olympia and inviting lawmakers.
We will have buses, one of which is handicap accessible, transporting members to and from the Capitol.
